Welcome! And thank you for visiting the StreetArt Cafe.

As you peruse the images from around the world, you'll see people and their environments.

Kids in the hutongs of Beijing and at a remote Zambian village. Shoppers along the narrow streets of Hydra and Istanbul. New Orleans Jazzfest revelers, artists and drainpipes. And more. Nothing too fancy or exotic. Just real people and things we sometimes take for granted in real settings.

Happiness, sadness. The sultry, beautiful and downtrodden. Old, young and in between. Frowns, smiles, wrinkles, decay. Life. And the global artistry of others as depicted on urban and rural building walls, from the Preserving Innovation collection.

About
Roger Pondel, whose work centers on environmental portraits, studied photojournalism with award-winning photographer Esther Davis. He likes to get in close and capture character on the streets. Inspired by his father, Pondel also seeks through photography to preserve the talent of artists whose canvasses are building walls and whose recognition is largely unsung.
